HAVA: a Media Lifesaver for Teaching Abroad
Mark W. from Missouri

I have a major dilemma.  I love other cultures, traveling, and teaching abroad, but I also love American sports, reality television, and news.  My wife and I used to teach in South Korea and we were more than let down when we only got two English speaking channels there: CNN and BBC.  We made do, but man did I miss American football….I love the Kansas City Chiefs.  Well, here is where my dilemma hits home now.  We are going to be going to China to teach in few months.  I made a preliminary trip to China in March and only found ONE English speaking television channel there.  This simply will not do.  We have to get a device to stream our cable TV to an internet connection in China….I believe that Monsoon HAVA will be our media lifesaver.

I can’t wait to be sitting on the Great Wall of China watching football on my pocket PC.  Or maybe I’ll take a seat in the Imperial Garden inside the Forbidden City and watch one of HGTV’s home remodeling shows.  I can already picture myself at Tianmen Square with my laptop in hand, surfing through my cable channels with millions walking around me.  The possibilities are endless and if I get my HAVA soon, I’ll truly be in the best of both worlds: my love for my TV and my love for teaching others.

Enjoying Favorite TV on My Sanctuary - Childhood Treehouse
By Eric

It may not sound like a unusual or even an exciting place to use my HAVA if I were to win one, but it is my sanctuary where one can enjoy a good mystery movie or a scifi flick and not be disturbed by the clamor and ding that goes on inside ones house. It is my home away from home. It's my tree house. It was built when I was a kid and now it sits about a good 20 feet above ground in this sturdy Oak tree. I can just picture myself there now with my laptop enjoying what was to be.

Watch TV When Traveling to Africa
By Tee

If I won a HAVA media device, the most interesting place I would want to use it is when I travel to Nigeria and other places in Africa.  The ability to be able to use the wireless connection in Nigeria to link into my TV programs in the US would be awesome and totally mind-boggling.  Sitting at the airport in France/Germany/Amsterdam/London and being able to watch what I want to watch would definitely make me feel at home.  I would dedicate one TV permanently for the HAVA.

I’d Love to Have a HAVA
By Erik J.

If I had a HAVA
I'd HAVA in the morning
I'd HAVA in the evening ... all over this land, I'd HAVA out danger I'd HAVA out a warning I'd HAVA out love between all of my brothers and my sisters All over this land.

If I had a bell
I'd ring it in the morning
I'd ring it in the evening ... all over this land, I'd ring out danger I'd ring out a warning I'd ring out love between all of my brothers and my sisters All over this land.

If I had a song
I'd sing it in the morning
I'd sing it in the evening ... all over this world, I'd sing out danger I'd sing out a warning I'd sing out love between all of my brothers and my sisters All over this land.

If I've got a HAVA
And I've got a bell
And I've got a song to sing ... all over this land, It's a HAVA of freedom!
It's a bell of justice
It's a song about love between all of my brothers and my sisters All over this land.

Ok, so it's not original but I think you get my meaning :) I'd love a HAVA!

HAVA Delivers Freedom of Entertainment in Vietnam
By Luke

The most amazing place that I want to use the HAVA if I win or own one would be in my country, Vietnam.  I have not visit my country in many years.  I want to travel there to see my relative and as the same time to explore Vietnam.  My relatives lived in the remote area but lucky they do have TV, phone and access to internet but I heard that they must paid a lot to access the internet.  Also the TV's program was not as good as we have here in the US.  The TV program was controlled by the government.  You can only watch what the government wanting you to watch.  So I told my relative I can not stay there without a good TV shows.  Therefore, I am in the mission searching for a software or hardware to see live TV on the PC.  I went online and searching and saw sites for Slingbox and HAVA.  I never heard of Slingbox or HAVA.  Many hours of searching and reading reviews about both products I had decided that HAVA is a final choice and a winner here.
I want to use this (HAVA) for my home and of course a trip to Vietnam.  First, to show off the technology to my relatives something that they never heard or seen before. For example, watch or pause, rewind fast forward and record live TV program on my PC.  Second, Watch my favorite movies and TV show anywhere during my trip.  Example HERO second season coming soon in September.  And most of all, this is mine! (If I win) I am controlling my own TV program not the government or my relative.

HAVA Brings the Best of Two Worlds Together
By Chris B. from California

If I owned a HAVA, I would take it to AT&T park so that I could watch the Giants play while at the same time, being able to watch the telecast and hear the play by play with Mike Krukow and Duane Kuiper. It would be fantastic to be able to watch the replay's right after they happen and would bring the best of two worlds together: being at the game, and watching it on tv!

HAVA in Enterprise Web Conferencing
By Veerender A.

Enterprises have been using costly video conferencing techniques to do office to office conferencing. They have been spending thousands of dollars, with costly compression and broadcasting techniques. HAVA can be employed to replace some of those technologies to be cost effective solution. Imagine whiteboarding a brilliant idea being shared across the offshore office in overseas. Imagine how much travel you can reduce and how much cost saving you can achieve by using HAVA at various locations along with a cheap camera and broadcast across Internet.

I think HAVA can substantially reduce costs and enhance office productivity along with the way it has been making HOME TV location free.

HAVA Transcends Time and Space Continuum
By Bobbie

I have a relationship with my daughter that is very unique and special.  We just love doing things together and we have the same interest.  She and I are geeks of the female variety.  When we found out about the HAVA we were both very excited.  We just love new and exciting devices and we think that the HAVA is one of the most exciting devices that we have seen in a long time.

If we had a HAVA unit then we could both watch TV together and commenting on it with our Messenger Live up and running.  We could both do this while we were in two different countries letting us continue on with spending time together long distance.  We used to live right next door to one another but now we live in two different cities and getting together is not as easy as just going next door.  The more that we can do together the better we feel.  My daughter is my best friend and being able to spend time with her no matter what we are doing is a blessing.   Having the HAVA unit would be a God send for us.

HAVA ConnectsLoved Ones Together
By Brad C. from California

One of the things that nobody seems to have done with their HAVA is to stream live video.  I have family that lives abroad and with a newborn, they'd love to fly out and stay for awhile, but it's not possible due to jobs back home.  To see the little one grow up, I've attached the video outputs on my miniDV camera and I'm now able to broadcast to multiple people around the world at the same time.  In addition, when working from home, I can keep an eye on the little one while others are doing the same - something that can't be done with other vendor's solutions!  This solution is economical, easy to deploy and consumes very little power.  While it's a one way interaction, I'd love to get a second one to send abroad so that my son can get to know their family abroad as much as they have learned about him so far.

Santa Watches Entourage While Gliding through the Air in 2010
By Cool C. from North Pole

In December 2010, not many things will be different. Kids will still play and go to school and adults will still read the paper and go to work. And of course, Entourage will still be on HBO. The eight candles of the menorah will still be lit and Santa Clause will still come and deliver  presents.  But in 2010, Christmas will be a Monday! That means that if Santa is to deliver presents on time that he will miss entourage.  And don't even think about "TiVoing" it. The second its over, Cupid, the Easter Bunny and every other holiday mascot will be calling Santa to talk about it.  The only way to save himself, and Christmas is to equip his sled with wireless internet and watch it over the HAVA at the north pole!  Therefore the coolest place to watch Entourage played by HAVA is in Santa's Sled as he glides through the air over the Pacific Ocean.

HAVA for Retail Surveillance
By Lisa C. from California

Even though I do have a store manager, as a small business owner I needed a way to ensure that my employees always do the right thing.  I thought about getting a solution that recorded all off the video, but an on premise solution like that could be disabled, edited or tampered with on-site.  Plus I have to wait until something is missing to go back through all of the video and by then it could be too late to recover the items.  I though about going with a web-based camera solution, but it just didn't give me the quality that I was looking for as they appeared grainy.  With my HAVA solution, I can get high quality video encoded and can ensure that I have live audio and video of my employees at work.  In addition, since multiple viewers can be viewing at once, I can have the store manager on-site viewing live audio and video while I do the same remotely.  This unique capability in the market turned me into a HAVAnaut!

“I Have to Have a HAVA!”
By Will S.

I have to have a HAVA! You see the most amazing place I could use a HAVA is right at home in the family room WITH my family. Here is the family dilemma. I am the only one in my family that likes to watch certain sporting events or other programming. The family constantly watches the Disney channel. Well if I want to watch a ball game, or any other shows I enjoy, I'm sent off to the bedroom away from my family. If I had the HAVA, I could be IN the same room as them watching the ball game, and STILL be a part of the family. To me that would be the most amazing place I could watch what I want, and the family could watch what they want, AND I could be in the same room as them.

My kids would no longer consider me a stranger when I see them. Oh wow, I just thought of something more! I could watch some of my favorite shows while commuting to and from work on the bus! I could watch them on my cell phone! This would free up more time for me to spend with my kids and wife! I just have to have my HAVA!

Hmmm, with the multiple inputs, I think I just thought of another awesome use! I could hook up a video camera to one of the inputs, and aim it at the family room. I could then watch the streaming video and audio feed through the HAVA from work! I would feel that much closer to my kids. I just have to have my HAVA!

As you can tell from my writings there is nothing exotic about my life.
I just have this conflict of family verse entertainment. For me, exotic is achieving both at the same time.

But if I truly must go exotic… Maybe my wife and I on vacation in some remote mountain retreat (With broadband access of course) watching our extensive library of videos while spending a little quality time in the hot tub on the deck with snow all around us. Hmmm, hard to say how much we would watch, but a guy can dream can't he? For this dream to come true, step 1: I have to have my HAVA!

Hmmm, this is the wife here to tell you my husband apparently has no clue what exotic is! Try this on for size: A decadent cruise with all of the amenities and luxury of the world’s most exotic hotels. Set sail to the south pacific visiting remote locations and truly seeing the world. For those long days on the open sea with no land in site, that is when I could catch up on my soaps!

Stop the boat! I'm taking this back. The day my HAVA has a soap on it, I have to have another HAVA as my HAVA would then be defiled. So, with that said I have to have my HAVA! Note that I said MY HAVA! Not HER HAVA! So I look so forward to getting my HAVA!
