The 1st thing I thought about was multituner capability. What a shame without that this product is of no use for me. When will these companies see the importanance of true Multiroom viewing. There are many satellite customers that are ready for this and very discouraged that NO one truely (after all these years) has a product that we need.
I'm sure Hava has a very good product for what it is. But when will a company out there finally see the market for Windows Media Center and Extenders as what they really need to be used for. MRV with 3 to 4 different channels at the same time and a resonable price tag. That company will corner the market. If these satellite and cable companys actually polled all their customers I think they woulb be surprised at just how many poeple want this.

The HAVA are a unicasting device. However the wireless HD model can have multiple people wathing the same TV content.

To ask hava to build a device that would allow multiple inputs and multiple outputs to be viewed at teh same time is not liekly to happen..

Lets say you wanted each viewer to stream at 2mb x 5 viewers, do you have that sort of uploading bandwidth to support he streams, most likely not.

There may also be legal issues why this is not done as you would become a broacaster, and you don't have a broadcasting licence do you?

Some things sound simple in nature but in reality are not possible to do. Not that you could not build our own hardware ssytem to do what you want.

I believe most of us are looking at the ability to purchase two or more havas, and have them work on the same subnet, possibly have them be available to Windows Media Center, etc.

So not necessarily looking for a new piece of hardware, just some tweaks to how the hava is found on the network to let several of them co-exist.

I have the bandwidth inside my house to support multiple hava's, I don't imagine myself ever having more than one accessed over the internet outside my house.

I'd love to be able to run two HAVA Platinums on one subnet. This is a basic need in any HTPC setup. HAVA seems to be the only manuf. with this limitation. We are not asking for anything that every other manufacture can do. The Hauppauge HD-PVR can do it, the Silicon Dust HDHR can do it. My single HAVA Platinum works great ... but to get a second capture device I'll have to spend my money with the competition. Big Windows MCE market opportunity missed! Bought my last HAVA happy with it, but a second would only work as a doorstop. What a shame.

Agree on the need, but a 2nd Hava is not quite a doorstop! Note that we can right now handle multiple Havas via the remote stream, or so I gather from elsewhere on this forum. As for the local stream, you just unplug the one you don't want.

TheKrell,

I went to Lowes and bought a real doorstop ... saved a HAVA!

Any chance you can point me to the thread about using remote stream of second HAVA? I had wondered if that would work, but had not pursued the thought.

Thanks! GG
