Where people tell us what they want.

OK I am getting pretty fed up with Hava, they made cheap nice box for streaming however they are not making stuff that we want.
Now everywhere we see 10mb broadband or even 100mb broadband but why the hell are we still stuck @ 1mb top for remote viewing.
Does Hava not really care about the customer? If they want their stuff to sell well then they should make the stuff to meet the demand of its customer.
I suggest let all start pushing Hava to speed up on their development as doing some upgrade feature should not be hard at all and it would actually show that Hava does care for its customers too..

Monsoon is an "interesting" company. I don't know this, but I imagine they don't have that many engineers on staff to fix bugs, add features, and engineer new products. Every so often they come out with a smashing new feature, or fix some longstanding bug, or add a client such as the iPhone. So they're obviously alive and kicking.
But from our standpoint, there seems to be "low hanging fruit" that the engineers never address. One of them is the modest bandwidth on the remote stream. Another is to turn on the audio aux port so that you can electronically switch between input sources. Regarding the remote stream bandwidth, I was shocked to see that the chipset supports D1 (same as on the local stream) bandwidth! So why not make it so?
I have no idea. I'm just another customer.
Edit: thought of another high-value low-engineering-cost feature that's almost there. Support for multiple Hava devices on the same LAN. The player already does this for remote clients, so why not finish the job for the local LAN and allow each of us to buy 4 or 5 Havas and stream any content anywhere? Don't know.

That why i think we need to join together and pressure Hava to fix the bugs and bring out stuff that customers want. ..

I would like to see the ability to stream at higher rates remotely, and let us deal with the issues of configuring the settings according to our bandwith, like Slingbox.

Yes we all would. I think at the moment HAVA have other priorities. I especially would like to be able to stream in remote on MPEG2 720 x 576 resolution, even if they meant not having remote recording the quality is great at that resolution. HAVA know about our concerns and I believe they will be addressed. Cannot say when as I have no idea but many things like choosing port forwarding and faster remote speeds and highe resolution I have emailed the management about. I have to be patient.

Well by posting on public forum, I hope that Hava peep will actually understand that we are just a bunch of loyal supporter / customer of Hava who only want to see Hava become a better product..

Your first post seems to indicate you have have been using a HAVA for a long time, but when you were testing mine you did not even know some of the basic controls yet. Didnt you say you have only used a HAVA for a few days before you bought my DSTV Streaming service? That was the impression I got anyways. If it was so asy we could always starting making our own streaming systems

Sure they care thats why we are testing the new improved remote viewing speeds. But firmware also needs to be updated and testing and writing firmware takes time. My HAVA on a 2mb line streaming on remote.

If remote viewing had the higher rates - it would help in the lack of the HAVA Player to see more than one local LAN device. I just bought my second HAVA to put on another receiver - to monkey around trying to see how I can get my PC to pick which one to stream from. So far - no luck. The post from Hava Hosting did not make sense as port forwarding the 2 UDP ports is for WAN to LAN - not LAN to LAN. If it did work where both on the LAN could be attached via the HAVA Player - how to you tell each HAVA Unit to only listen on the specific UDP port?
Remote viewing - yes, no problem - I can port forward - but no need if HAVA is using the PtP process to find it.
I think most will prefer to have the Player stop broadcasting to find, use a Netbios name we can assign with an IP address - then in the player - allow more than one local LAN device to be used. This is not for broadcasting - this is for me trying to pick which hava I want to watch from - the living room or basement on my LAN.
Hope to see soon. Currently - I run VLC to one HAVA and the player to the other - quality suffers on the VLC.

I see back in January someone within the Hava organization announced they were working on allowing 2mb line streaming on remote. They even posted a picture. Is this feature now available? If not when will it be available? I just purchased my Hava Titanium Wi-fi. I should be getting it Wednesday. And this is a feature I am very interested in since I will be using the remote streaming predominately.

Thanks I have actually added used this and it works good for me. Although I was kind of hoping to up the resolution, because I have a big TV and more resolution would be nice.
