Remote viewing issues on HAVA Gold.

There were some changes done on our central servers on Sunday which require some changes to be done on the HAVA Gold end too. Please perform the following steps to rectify the issue.

Resolution:

• Download Firmware version 152.115.
• Install this to your HAVA Gold device:
- Run HAVA Setup Wizard (Local Network Only)
- Go to Advanced
- Update
- Firmware
- Specify the path, where you have downloaded the firmware fw_32.152115.rup.img file.
- Click on Open.
- Click on Upgrade.
- Wait until the firmware is uploaded, and the device has rebooted and reconnected to Setup Wizard.
• Factory reset the device after completing the firmware upgrade. Please see Setup Wizard Help for information on performing a factory reset.
• Extract the attached registry patch file and Merge it to your registry by right-clicking on the file and selecting "Merge" from the menu.
• Run the Setup Wizard to configure the device for remote viewing.
• Test your Remote Connection using the HAVA Gold Player.

Hi Gary,

I am a new user, I just installed my Hava Gold yesterday in the midst of this problem. I just wanted to let you know this corrected my issue and I can now use my hava remotely.

It is working (although I didnt test the remote connection beforehand so wasnt aware if was not working) however the firmware is a much lower version than the prev loaded one. Every time I open PC Player it says I have an older firmware and prompts me if I want to connect or not....

New firmware is 152.xxx.xx whereas the one I had before was 237.xxx.xx

Dear Customer,

You need to Change the Following System Registry Values: Click on Start > Run > type REGEDIT > Click on OK browse to HKey_Current_User\Software\
Monsoon Multimedia\ HAVA \PC Player> FirmwareVersion and change the value from 237xxx to “152115” so that you won’t get any Firmware upgrade notification at all.

Thats all well and good but why is the firmware much older ? Cant Gold users just have upto date firmware and software? Will an updated software package be released to incorporate these changes ? I hope we're not left behind once again!

i did these changes and i can connect to my hava gold remotely through my home computer but i cant through my phone

So I'm following these instructions and am clueless when it gets to the part about extracting and merging the attached registry file. I have no idea what I'm suppose to be doing for this part.

Can someone please help me.

Gary,

I have a HAVA Platinum and it seems I started running into remote viewing problems at about the same time as mentioned above (end of January). It seems every day when I try to connect remotely, the HAVA player tells me that my HAVA box is turned off or disconnected. I know for a fact that it is not. My wife (who is back home) has to physically unplug the HAVA and reset it and then I can connect to it remotely. I have been on the phone with her as she does that and HAVA is able to come back. However, within 24hrs I am running into the same problem. This has been going on for about a week now. I have used the remote connection before that for over 2 months straight without any problems.

Can I do the firmware upgrade mentioned above for the HAVA Platinum in order to resolve this issue? If not, what can I do? Maybe it is just a coincidence that my problems started happening at about the same time as your date above.

I have the original HAVA (a wireless unit purchased directly from you - does that make it a HAVA Wireless HD?) I also cannot remotely connect since the beginning of Feb. Does this patch work for me or should I search for another answer?

Dear Customer,

There were some changes done on our central servers which needs some some changes to be done at the HAVA end too.

Kindly reset your HAVA Unit to factory defaults and Run the Wizard again to reconfigure it.

How to Reset HAVA to Factory Defaults:

• Turn the HAVA On Wait for a Minute so that it will boot properly.
• Press and Hold the Reset Button concealed within the reset hole at the back of the HAVA with a paper pin or Safety Pin.
• Wait until all the Lights on the Front Panel of HAVA will Flash all together (takes around 6 to 7 Seconds)
• Release the Reset Button and let the Unit Reboot. Takes around One-Two minute.
• Once the Two Solid Lights are back Run HAVA Setup Wizard again to Reconfigure HAVA from Scratch.

Is downgrading the firmware still a necessary step? Newbie to HAVA and want to make sure I'm not setting my new Gold up with dated info.
