Mobile player can not work onLandscape correctly

Postby yeche on Wed Jun 17, 2009 5:37 am

Hi
I am using the mobile player on my HTC Diamond and enjoy it, both on WIFI and on cellular connection
The only issue is that when I change it to work on Landscape (More clear in my Diamond) it Hung-up after couple of minutes, both on WIFI and on Data connection.
Please advice how can I solve it
Thanks

If you're running it on Windows Mobile 6.1 don't hold your breath for a fix. This is a problem that was first reported back around the first of the year (and too many times to count since then) as a problem with the HAVA mobile player for Windows. HAVA tried to blame it on the phones but it's a problem with their software as every other piece of video software runs fine in landscape mode.

Only way to successfully watch TV on a Windows Mobile 6.1 mobile device (I'm using the HTC Touch Pro) in in portrait mode.

I would also not hold your breath - just because we don't want you to pass out!

I did finally get an HTC Touch "Fuze" which has exactly this problem, and sent it to the development team with orders to deal with it after the iPhone client is released. So, that's probably going to be a few more weeks at the very least.

what about local 802.11g Windows Mobile Devices?

I have an Axim 51V WM6.1, that stutters and stops in landscape, no matter how close I am to the wireless g routher. it plays fine in portrait.

It's kind of sad to think that the "development" team cannot work simultaneously on an iphone client and a FIX for consumers who have ALREADY shelled out their money on HAVA and have been dealing with this for long time. ( I would hope that the development team is more than one person and could multi task enough to work on this issue)

3 weeks.....status please??? this problem isnt going away.......I think youtube is beginning to get some vids of how bad this problem is .... wonder if Hava/Monsoon realize how big that can be? Certainly cheaper to invest one or two good developers or hacks to fix the issue. Anyone have another good use for the hava ? can someone find a simple way for us to stream a cam thru hava and maybe we can use it to at least use as mobile security cam ? maybe a cam with component ouputs????any ideas?? maybe a boat anchor, door stop??

I know just how annoying this is i run 2 retail stores and have a good stock of hava units and pinnacle units and have 2 on demo to show customers but there is nothing more embarrasing then the question "can i watch this on my mobile phone, it says i can"

ermmmmm well... you can imagine the spew i have to say to cover my tracks!

Come on guys chop chop i know the player is free but im willing to PAY for it so as not to allow further embarassment and being stuck with 20 units!!!!!!!

deanjp1, you didn't post it so I guess I'll have to do it.

Week6 = no updates

Not that I expected one as it has been 8 months since this problem was originally reported then it took 6 1/2 months before someone at Hava (Gary-MM) kind of unofficially acknowledged the problem when he finally got a Touch Pro "Fuze". Problem is we have to wait for them to deliver the iPhone application first and if it takes them as long to do that as it did to come out with support for some of the other phones out there, he should have said it will be a few 'years' before they get back to fixing the problem.

Well have you seen the refurb prices on the Hava ?? Fire Sale? I imagine most of the refurbs are brand new units since the consumer probably just had an issue that they couldn't figure out or something that was waiting on a "fix" ...wonder if we will make it to a year soon on how long it is taking for a FIX...Gary???????

Dear Lefy11,

You may need to wait for a few more weeks for this Fix. There are a few "Final Minute" changes taking place.
