I will make this brief but there is plenty of thread already started on this subject: Mobile Player freezes and quits after trying to play in landscape mode:
I am wm6.1 , HTC Touch Pro (relatively high end phone/pda user. I had Hava on a ppc6700 and an HTC Mogul. Had problems on the mogul but eventually was fixed and had been working great . I upgraded phones to a VGA Touch Pro. You think it would have gotten even better to watch. However as MANY users found out, the player would work in its almost microscopic(due to resolution) portrait mode, but then when you try to go to landscape mode, it comes on for just a second or two, chops up, then freezes and disconnects. 100 percent of the time. I have seen many other users post the same issue and the support team said since November that there would be a "fix" coming very soon. I went through this a while back about fixes and such when there were original problems until what appeared to be third party involvment produced a working solution . It appears some of us are now in the same situation as before. Waiting on a fix that is promised but does not seem to come. I know many of us have bought the unit for using the mobile piece as a unique option that other phone/ppc users do not have. The thing is we paid fo it and should expect some issues resolved after months of waiting. the problem has been well documented. I am asking all who are experiencing this issue to please post a reply here in hopes that someone in support will take this problem seriously. I have given so much word of mouth advertising for this product, I almost feel I should be on the payroll. Now if someone asks to see my Hava work, I have to tell them it's broken to avoid looking like an idiot. If you too are experiencing the issue of the mobile player crashing after going into landscape mode, please post here . I urge you. We need a collective voice here. HAVA SUPPORT< PLEASE FIX THIS ISSUE, it's been stated here for months and months and still no fix. PLEASE HELP!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Good luck getting HAVA (Monsoon Multimedia) to fix the problem. I reported it back in December and again after they came out with their latest version of the mobile client. There has been no response fro HAVA to any of the complaints users have posted here. Maybe all of the technical/development staff back in India is on strike.
I'm waiting for Dish Network to release their new Vip922 Slingbox loaded DVR to come out (supposedly in the spring but Dish is like HAVA, all promises). Once I get that I'll Ebay (if I can find someone to buy it) my HAVA Platinum HD and go exclusively with the Slingbox technology.
At the rate HAVA (Monsoon Multimedia) is going with their support (or lack of) they'll no longer be able to be called the 'SlingBox Killer', it'll be more like the 'SlingBox murder victim'.

No...I will not even put it onto eBay that will cost somebody else money for this kind of support...I will destory it or throw it into the bin and buy a Slingbox if there are no fix in 2 weeks time by Hava. I have made a complaint to the local dealer and also no feedback from them. I will also launch a complain to the consumer council here, with the misleading marketing information saying that the Hava is supporting Mobile Phone with WM6. Just disappointing....At least you should let us know the time to fix it !!!!

I have not forgotten, I'm sitting here with my touch pro and a video out cable in hand and the promise of a product that would work on windows mobile phone. I have all the tools in place to have my kids watch live disney channel on the road and some software issue is keeping all my hardware from living up to it's potential, I've bought your product, Ive bought the expensive phone, I've payed for the unlimited data service, I've bought the aftermarket video out cable, I've installed the video screens in the headrests and I've payed for the in car dvd player with video in capability and "it's a known issue" is not going to cut it, get it fixed or you'll soon lose a customer for life, and I know 1 person is not all that important but trust me, I'm that friend that all of their other friends and family (and often the family and friends of those people)turns to when looking for technical advice and the one that they are always like "wow I didnt know that was possible" when I've got stuff like live tv in my truck, I gladly tell them how I make stuff happen if I feel the products are reliable and fairly user friendly, too my understanding Slingbox has already fixed this problem and will soon have another customer in their growing ranks if you don't get this problem fixed soon, and another thing, you may be ready to release the update tomorrow or next week or a month from now, but since your not communicating your timetable or your progress your compounding the fear that your ignoring the problem.

Agreed. It's long overdue. Support, especially for the mobile client, is sorely lacking here, especially with the move that caused comms to be lost when accessing a Hava remotely right around superbowl time. I mean they have our usernames, they could have sent an email blast warning of their server change or something.
I bought Hava because of its mobile client and MCE integration. Neither work exactly right, especially with later versions of MCE (like TV Pack and Win7). Recordings management on the box is nil, I do better with my Orb (on a PC I was supposed to retire months ago). It's more of a concept product than a full-featured offering.
I'm inclined to give them time to get both right, but patience is running out.

I have owned both a sling and a hava. I do like my hava much better than sling but the support is lacking. I would have gladly paid a lil more $ for my hava to get better support. I would have even paid a little extra for the mobile player if it was going to get fixed. I understand things cost money to develop and maintain but I do have to say hava support is not very good at all. I also have an htc touch pro and I found out very quickly that it didn't work in landscape mode. I haven't heard any updates from support about the issue. Even if they were keeping us informed I would feel a lot better than just getting ignored.

below is a copy of email I sent to support, please send emails to support to make them understand we are serious . The forums do not get read by nearly enough of the support staff evidently: please refer to this link, http://www.myhava.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=9&t=2414 it is not the only link that references this issue and once again your support , or lack of support, is incredibly disrespectful of actual paid customers. You sell these units for several hundred dollars and you fail to acknowledge issues or you post vague responses with promises of a "fix " to come very soon. This is a very real problem and you really need to address it. the people experiencing these problems are the type of technical user using high end products, they have links to to tech community and can easily influence consumer decision on products through reviews etc. the link is not the only thread concerning this issue yet after many months you still have no resolution(no pun intended) . If this email is not finding the right person then please by all means refer me to the right person in hopes that something can be done. SINCERELY, a frustrated WM6.1 user with years of experience and high end products

*sigh* I had hoped with the newest mobile player update (the jan. 09 update) this landscape issue would be fixed since it was well known before the update, come on hava, what is the deal here?
Disappointed.

copied from another mobile thread... the smug reply on TheTechGuy's response is quite unnerving...enjoy it in portrait mode only? ??? Wonder if they would like if we said enjoy half a paycheck only?? Please read the following copy : http://www.myhava.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=9&t=2312 Re: Hava Mobile on HTC Touch Diamond Postby TheTechGuy on Fri Nov 21, 2008 6:37 pm Dear Customers, I have received some logs. Thankyou all for your efforts. I have forwarded the logs to the software development team for further analysis. I am hopeful that they will find the cause and provide a fix at the earliest. In the mean time. Enjoy HAVA in "Of course only " Portrait Mode.Regards, HAVA Tech Support * Report this post * Reply with quote Re: Hava Mobile on HTC Touch Diamond Postby Suudhh on Sat Nov 29, 2008 5:00 pm We apologize for the inconvenience caused to you all. Surely it can't take this long for a fix!
Come on HAVA pull your finger out! This is getting ridiculous now.

I have a HTC Touch Pro as well and it also doesn't work in landscape mode. I don't know what's going on at HAVA headquarters, but their quality control is really poor. They should make the source code open source so that we can fix it ourselves. It's clear to me that they are not interested in customer satisfaction.
Another gripe I have with the mobile viewer is its UI and overall responsiveness. 'Horrible Implementation' doesn't quite capture their software development effort. I mean come on! even the windows client sucks, but at least the buttons are decent sized. The buttons are impossible to select without using a stylus. I can't wait to see their iphone implementation.
RELEASE THE SOURCE CODE..or at least release the libraries for connecting to the hardware. It's not like you make any money selling the mobile client anyway.
