you are still just seeing 1 hava unit at a time. Switching inputs doesn't really buy you a whole lot. Eg you can't watch one input and record another

you can't bring up multiple windows at once to watch all the football/hockey games at one time

you've hit on a way to manually watch a different input if the one you want is busy (although no real way to tell if it is)

I am still seeing one HAVA unit at ONE time. But I can record on the other one, or we can both watch and record....or we can not watch and have them both record.

NO you can't bring up multiple windows...PIP...Picture in Picture....but that ain't important to me....I can do that on my Dish Network...and don't.

It not a matter of being busy....by busy do you mean recording?....cause they aint never busy...I can watch any tuner I choose....but it's cumbersome.

BTW Do you work for SingBox....or are you the Dish Network Techie know it all American job stealing customer service representative Indian? I'm just asking cause you told me I couldn't do this...I'am Landscaper and just did it in very clear terms.

How did you know, without trying [what I suggested]

Nope not with a hava

you can do it easily with Sony locationfree units. The picture is not as good as the havas tho (and no mce integration)Tikker

Well for not being able to do it....I did it! I have 2 HAVA'S ON ONE NETWORK STREAMING FROM 2 SEPERATE STB'S.

Well I have also posted before that I have multiple Hava's running on one network.

Good one Wawasoo for figering it out. It isnt rocket science but there just isnt sufficient documentation from Monsoon on this issue.

You still don't get it

your solution doesn't really address the issue

yea you have multiple havas running

great

you can't see more than 1 at a time though

and I am not talking about picture in picture

I am talking about watching 1 tuner and recording with another on 1 machine

Or maybe I need to use smaller words for you

Get more the one PC and STB in the house and it's a piece of Cake. HAVA's only have one input and one output...so 1 is the number. You can't get more then 1 output...from 1 Input.....but if you have 12 STB's..then get 12 PC's and 12 HAVA's and record on 12 at a time. I'm showing them how to do this..just give them a few weeks.

That's not even remotely feasible. What we're talking about is having 4 stb 4 hava and being able to connect to any or all 4 of the hava/stb on 1 machine

HAVA HOSTING....it's clean and it works....you need to look at the banning of IP on the Network for multiple HAVA's like McAffe allows me to do....and for the what it's worth department I was able to skip your first step in setting up the 4th PC with your HAVA setup...I pre-banned the first HAVA @ 192.168.1.11...before I started. ie I didn't have to power down any HAVA units on the LAN. I just did it as a normal install, and the install was only allowed and followed the the IP addresses to the selected correct HAVA unit I wanted.

With my setup, any one of 4 would be a piece of cake? All 4 at once not on one pc. And to have 1 pc do all of the recording is going to be a hammer on bandwith 10/100/1000 for the server. You are better off to spread recording to "slave pc's" [old machines you don't know what to do with], on the network like my XP that just watches a Tunner and records to the server folder for the benifit of us all in the home. It would be nice if I could have my "RECORDER SLAVE PC" know to switch between STB's...with HAVA software to do it.

All this could be set up on WHS. You know?....you have a sever for the network...just add Server Recorder Slaves. ie PC's that just schedule recordings comming in from network Media Center Requests on the Network.

BTW...I'm not looking for remote accesss...I'm Satellite Internet.

Remote access is out of the question....because of monthly banwidth.

Well help us out here...you can't get sued to dirt...for showing us how to do something we already figued out on our own[free use]. I'm from Michigan I can do it all...give me a break on the switch for our STB's.

you really have no idea what you're talking about, do you?

how do you go about reconciling the recording schedule?

how do you not accidently steal the hava from someone else that's using it at that moment?

See the other problem wawasoo is that your solution is what we in the "biz" call a hack.. not hack in the "hacker" sense, but a hack in the sense that you shouldn't have to use some silly workaround like a third-party software firewall in order to trick the software into thinking there is only one HAVA device on the LAN.. I SHOULD be able able to go into the "connect to device" menu option and setup as many HAVA devices as I would like and then be able to, at the very least, toggle between them (to say nothing of PIP)..

Not to reopen this but you can. 4 havas on the same network. Just subnet. The real limit is the remote. Only the hava player would change channels. To point the hava player to the correct hava you would need to change the gateway of the pc network adapter to the hava ip.

You can watch 4 on 1 pc with just 2 hava's even.

But is each of those windows playing from a different HAVA device? Or are you just pulling up a feature from the STB?

If each of the windows is a different HAVA device, then I would be very interested to know how you have it setup.

Hello folks,

I'm a little lost on the procedure to get two hava units installed on 1 network. I have one unit connected to my computer and it's used for my local viewing when working and windows media center records shows at other times.

My wife's computer is on the same network. All I want to do is install the 2nd hava on our bedroom STB and allow her to run the hava software on her computer to watch local tv. Is this possible?

Thanks!!!!

Bill
