I have a Verizon FiOS QIP-7100 set top box. The Comcast option works relatively well, except that the "commercial skip" DVR function doesn't seem to have a key (manually selected from the drop-down). Maybe it is there, I haven't found it yet.

My particular remote is the first one on this page:

Would Monsoon Multimedia please consider making a skin/settings file for this remote? That would be much appreciated.

Thanks!

I too have the Verizon/Motorola HD QIP 7100 as well as QIP 2500-3 (both use the same remote). I initally tried the Motorola DCT2500 and it worked well, but there the DVR button didn't work and you couldn't stop DVR playback (these units playback video from the Home Media DVR).

I tried the Comcast DCT6412, but it didn't work at all. Then I tried the S1401_PL.bin in the QIP 6200 zip file (from this post viewtopic.php?
f=17&t=1707#p6583). No go. So I tried the S1401_PK.bin. Boom!!! Blue Screen (I think it was IRQL_NOT_LESS_THAN_OR_EQUAL, but it went by too quick to get more than that). I wasn't sure whether to try the PL or PK because the post that it says to check out doesn't work (http://www.myhava.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=2&t=1954).

So now I've rebooted, reconnected and tried to go back to my DCT2500. Now if I try to click the Test button in the HAVA Setup Wizard, nothing works. If I exit the Setup Wizard and try the remote in the player, it works. Odd. I can live with the Test button not working, but it's painfully slow to go in and out of the player/wizard to try different remotes (is everyone's wizard this slow).

Can Monsoon/HAVA make the right remote driver for Verizon FiOS or can someone tell me which other remote really works the best.

It's been several years since this thread was created. Any news on official FIOS support?

1) I can't even figure if I enter it as cable or DVR. I have a FIOS DVR QIP6416-2.
2) I can't find FIOS, Verizon or Motorola under DVR, and I think I only found Motorola under cable box.
3) I can't find ANY codes QIC, and I think when I entered DCT6416 I couldn't find DVR keys.
4) I just bought the Have wireless HD.
5) I am faking it by using a cable type, Comcast using DCT6416. Of course the skin isn't right; i suspect I can't activate the close captions, and of course the skin isn't right.

I think FIOS is getting quite a headway, and this thread is years old (I myself have had FIOS TV for over two years). It took a while but I think my Slingbox fully matches the FIOS remote. I was hoping that Hava would do no less. It's basically taking me back a year or two to where I used to be with Slingbox.

I just tried using it, and compared to what I'm used to on my slingbox:

1) No skip-ahead. YES I can pull it up from the menu, but I have it set to advance 30 seconds and typically hit it 6 times for a 3 minute commercial break. Each time you select it from the menu it disappears and you have to open the menu and select it again.
2) Hot keys are not obvious and likely not too many defined. Slingbox has most of them as tooltips -- hover the mouse and it tells you the hot key.

I may have more; these two posts are my initial impressions.

I have the Verizon FIOS DVR QIP6416 unit and have successfully used the DCT6416 Cable Box option to control my Hava Wireless HD unit for the last year. Recently however, this protocol has stopped working as the menu commands no longer change channels, bring up menus, or anything else. Have the commands for this unit changed, or is there something I am missing?
