Pioneer DVR-340H

The typical approach we use to generate BIN files doesn't work for this remote as it appears to use two protocols stacked on top of each other.

I have captured the codes as a learned file, not a BIN file - which means that currently, anyway, you won't be able to use the Setup Wizard to load the codes. Our next release of software (HAVA 1.7.3) will support learned codes, however it's not ready for prime time yet.

I have attached a ZIP file with several files inside it. Create a new folder somewhere on your PC and extract all of the files from this ZIP into that folder. Keep track of the name of this folder as you will need it a little later.

Be sure that your PC is on the local network where HAVA is connected and that you can connect to HAVA with the player in local viewing mode. However you should have player closed or disconnected while you perform the following steps.

Open a command prompt (we used to call this a "DOS box"). Assuming that you extracted the ZIP file to c:\users\HAVA\desktop\Pioneer (for example), then make sure that your command prompt also shows this path. If it does not, then type in the following commands (your typing is shown in bold). Replace "HAVA" with your current user name.

c:\>cd \users\HAVA\desktop\Pioneer
c:\users\HAVA\desktop\Pioneer>DVR-340H_IR X

where X is:
0 - Tuner
1 - Composite
2 - S-Video
3 - YUV Component

corresponding to the HAVA input that your Pioneer box is connected to.

here is the sample of what should appear on your screen (your IP address will likely be different):

ir_load_loc set_codes DVR-340H_IR.lrn 1
Local device is CONNECTED, IP 192.168.11.196
Uploading codes...
Associating loaded codes with video input...
Operation is complete

Then, go to Player and select the "Cable/Satellite" or "dvr" skin depending on which functions you use most often.

If you need to go back into Setup Wizard, it may mess this up, so if that happens, just do these steps again after exiting Setup Wizard. Worst case, you may need to factory reset your box.

I didn't capture ALL of the buttons yet, first I wanted to be sure this concept would work. Let me know of any/all problems with the codes, etc. and if any keys are missing for critical functions.
Best regards,
