Company History
Monsoon Multimedia, Inc. develops and markets a suite of advanced, standards based video streaming, place-shifting and time-shifting video products and technologies.
Monsoon Multimedia was founded in 2004 by a team of digital video pioneers and serial entrepreneurs with a track record of launching successful startup companies in the growing digital video space. In 1996, the founders of Monsoon Multimedia founded Dazzle, where they developed the world's first affordable PC hardware and software products to compress video based on MPEG standards. In 2000, they founded Emuzed, where they pioneered the world's first TiVo-type product for the PC based on Microsoft's Media Center Edition PC operating system.
Innovative Product Line
Monsoon's products are revolutionary TV place-shifter that streams video very efficiently over a standard ethernet, 802.11g wireless network or over a broadband Internet connection. Monsoon changes the traditional TV viewing paradigm by streaming live TV to network connected PC’s and or mobile phones as if you watching TV from the sofa.
Monsoon gives consumers the freedom to watch home TV wherever and whenever they want. The Monsoon product line allows consumers to watch and control the TV from Internet-connected PC, laptop, or mobile phone device. This means you can watch your home TV anywhere in the world where there is a high speed Internet connection.
Highly regarded as a key enabler of the new information and entertainment (infotainment) revolution, the Monsoon place-shifting and time-shifting product line enables consumers an innovative way of watching home TV, and empowers consumers to take control of their infotainment lifestyle.
Leading Edge Technology
The Monsoon's place-shifting product line is powered by our Patent Pending vBooster™ technology. vBooster is an innovative place-shifting technology that enables the reliable multicast video delivery in legacy 802.11 networks. It allows MPEG-2 and MPEG-4 video streams to bypass the access point (AP), effectively doubling the available bandwidth while still keeping the PC connected to the AP for the non-video traffic. VBooster is capable of streaming of more than 20 Mbps in a legacy 802.11a/g network. VBooster also permits simultaneous viewing of video on multiple PCs using just one wireless stream.

| What the Media Says |
"Monsoon differs from Sling by adding 802.11a/g wireless networking to the mix of transmitting video from a home source (cable, MCE PC, etc.) to your laptop across your home or across the Internet. Monsoon also adds the ability to stream to more than one PC."
PC Magazine
"Windows Media Center users may very well find it to be a must-have accessory."
CNET
"What's nice about this product is that it has built-in wireless capabilities -- unlike the Slingbox. The Slingbox must be connected to your router via an ethernet port, which was problematic for me because of my router and TV reside on different floors in my house. The product was able to connect to my router wirelessly."
